FAQs

Why provide these 3 vitamin and micronutrient complexes and not others?

B12, B complex, NAD+, and glutathione have all garnered claims regarding their efficacy in boosting energy, detoxifying the body, and enhancing general health. Studies show NAD+ levels decline with age, correlating with reduced mitochondrial function, oxidative stress, and aging-related diseases. Restoring NAD+ levels through supplements or injections has been associated with improvements in mitochondrial health, insulin sensitivity, and lifespan in animal models. Some evidence suggests NAD+ may have neuroprotective effects, potentially helping in conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. This is based on preclinical models where NAD+ replenishment supported cellular repair and reduced inflammation.

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from oxidative damage, supports the immune system, and plays a role in detoxification. Some clinical studies have demonstrated that glutathione injections can increase intracellular glutathione levels and improve antioxidant status. Research shows that glutathione is essential for liver detoxification. In cases of liver disease or toxicity (e.g., from alcohol or medications), glutathione supplementation can improve liver function.

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is critical for DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, and neurological function. Deficiency in B12 is common, particularly in older adults, vegetarians, and those with gastrointestinal disorders. Intramuscular injections of B12 are a well-established treatment for B12 deficiency, especially for those with malabsorption issues. Studies confirm that injections rapidly raise serum B12 levels and improve symptoms of deficiency, such as fatigue, anemia, and neurological impairments. B vitamins are essential cofactors in metabolic pathways that produce cellular energy (ATP). Deficiency in any of these vitamins can lead to fatigue, weakness, or neurological issues. Some studies suggest B-complex vitamins may help with mental clarity, mood regulation, and cognitive function, particularly in individuals who are deficient. The evidence for more basic vitamin and minerals is that oral supplementation is sufficient though we are always looking to expand our offering and would consider requests from customers over time.

What is the benefit of having multiple or all injections together?

There is the potential benefit of synergistic support detoxification and anti-oxidant defense, enhanced energy and metabolism, improved cognitive and neurological function, anti-aging effects, and holistic immune health.

Are the injections given individually?

Yes if you choose the signature or premium cocktail you will have more than one injection. You’ll be advised where to have the injections, typically the deltoid muscle of the upper arm, thigh or hip.

Why choose an intra-muscular (IM) vs. intra-veinous (IV) or oral supplement?

When these nutrients are injected intramuscularly (or intravenously), they bypass the digestive system, ensuring more efficient and immediate absorption into the bloodstream. This is especially beneficial for individuals with malabsorption issues (e.g., gastrointestinal disorders) or those who need rapid replenishment of these compounds due to deficiencies or stress. Glutathione is shown to be poorly absorbed as an oral supplement even for those without malabsorption issues and NAD+ IM injections is shown to be most efficacious vs. precursor NR or NMN oral supplementation. IV supplementation allows for higher doses but can be more costly (typically 4-5x IM) and takes roughly 60-120 minutes.

What are the potential negative side effects?

For NAD:

Common side effects may include: Nausea, headaches, flushing, or pain at the injection site.

Serious side effects may include: Fatigue and in increased heart rate

For Glutathione:

Common side effects may include: nausea, allergic reactions such as rashes, itches or shortness of breath, or pain at the injection site

Serious side effects may include: skin whitening, possible toxicity at very high and prolonged use

For B12 and B complex:

Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, and pain at the injection site

Serious side effects may include: toxicity from high doses of B6 and allergic reactions
